Rectangular Prism Glass Art Birdhouse Sculpture
From Rebuilding Together’s Webpage:
As a way to engage the community, connect with local companies, and raise money to support critical home repairs, RTGC is hosting an event called [Re]Build the Roost. Sponsors will create birdhouses that will be added to a silent auction. Select sponsors will have access to our workshop, Innovation Alley, to work with small teams to construct their birdhouse using our tools. Additionally, all sponsors will have the opportunity to work with a local artist on their birdhouse. This is a great opportunity for colleagues to work together on a creative project and build stronger relationships within your team and in the Greater Charlotte area. RTGC will host a silent auction event where sponsors, RTGC volunteers and homeowners, and the general public will be invited to mingle and bid on the birdhouses.

The Glass Birdhouse was made in support of Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte’s “[Re]Build the Roost” fundraising event in October 2022 sponsored by Lowe’s. Creative advocacy group, Charlotte is Creative, recommended TuxedoKat to participate. The birdhouse’s design, meaning to be purely decorative and not acting as a functional birdhouse, replicates TuxedoKat’s unique up-cycled glass mosaic process. With two compartments and a removable back, this birdhouse can be placed on a mantle or porch and filled with tea lights. The birdhouse can withstand cold, heat, wind and water.
